About Me
I am Dr. Valerie Kelley, a Family Medicine physician and independent health advocate. After several years in clinical practice, I stepped away to provide full‑time care for my children. Together, we have navigated many diagnoses and recently learned we are an AuDHD family. I am passionate about supporting individuals and families as they navigate new or complex diagnoses.

I see you are located in Burke, Virginia. How would you be an advocate for a friend or family member in a different region or state?
Virtual platforms allow me to communicate with clients in any state. Additionally, physician and advocate colleagues extend my network. Finally, I am a diligent and indefatigable researcher. I look forward to being of service to you and yours.
Do you take insurance or HSA/FSA accounts?
The field of health advocacy is fairly young but is rapidly developing. Unfortunately, health advocacy is not yet a benefit offered by employers. It is not yet reimbursable using HSA or FSA accounts.
Do you work for an insurance company?
The beauty of being an independent health advocate is that I work solely for you.
Are you comfortable with pediatric or adult cancer?
I have had some experience supporting adults with different cancer diagnoses. As of this writing, I do not have experience with pediatric cancer diagnoses. However, if we decided to work together, I would equip myself in order to best support the client and family.
Can I afford this?
I believe everyone can benefit from a health advocate. I have an hourly rate and I can provide discounted bundles. If your budget is 6 hours, for example, I will work to complete your goals in that time. On the other hand, if you prefer regular check ins, I offer a subscription plan.
